I appreciate your quick response. A metal eyelet is visible between my fingers; a black cable extends from its left edge to an unknown location; the quality of the photograph is lacking, my apologies.

I will return to this later, but in the meanwhile, is it acceptable as is or does it need to be reinserted into the engine compartment? Is there a certain place for it, or would it be possible to just reattach it if, for example, that clip were to break? Thank you!

No amount of centrifugal force will ever allow the OP to lift 400 lbs rwtq. He has greater leeway and maybe less expense as he doesn't require a serious clutch. Although I currently use a dual disc in my turbo E36 M3 and my E90 M3 came with one, a single disc is more cost-effective and can handle ...
