Since it is always hot, I would like to switch the lower 12v outlet (under the ashtray) to switched power. Would it be possible to find a wire just above it in the dashboard that I could use as a relay controller or to connect directly to the outlet?
I am grateful.

What amount of amps are required? Maybe the stereo, but I'd have to be extremely cautious with the car's delicate electrical systems. Is a multi-meter in your possession? During these kinds of situations, they are crucial.
