No Start on Crank After Motor Swap

Post by alice_thomasc »

My 2600i extended cab 4x4 just had its head gasket blown, so I thought I'd let you all know. Now that I switched the motors, I'm getting a crank but no start. has no problems turning over, but won't begin. I replaced out the pan and pickups and tossed in the replacement motor, which was taken from a 2x4 ute. I had to wait till it started up again before I could remove the old motor. After checking the gasoline level, I saw that there is a significant amount of pressure. Moreover, I verified that there is spark by inspecting the plugs. A lot of crumpling. Unfortunately, there is no immobilizer on this vehicle. I could really need some guidance. Not sure what to do. It has all the necessary components to function, yet it isn't.

Thank you ahead of time

In my opinion, you should
Replace the battery. long I was rebuilding mine, it sat for a long. Turned over, but wouldn't discharge.

Sure, I'll take a shot at getting a new battery. The car has only been unplugged for a week. There ought to have been little alteration. What a relief!

Try starting the engine many times after spraying aerosol starting fluid into the air filter or throttle body. If it starts up and then turns off, the problem is likely with the gasoline supply. Do something about the spark problem if it still won't run after this. As an initial step in troubleshooting, this is a typical procedure. Isolating the source of ignition, be it gasoline or spark, is an absolute must. Keep in mind that the engine's cranking ability is no guarantee of the "run" circuit's (the electrical portion of the ignition switch) functionality.

It only backfired once while I was beginning it on starter fulid, so that's good. When cranking, I withdrew the plugs and saw that they were all sparking.

1. So the usage of beginning fluid is what initiates it?

2. Are you using the proper timing for the ignition (spark)?

It seems to be trying to run on the starting fluid, but it isn't quite getting the job done. After checking the injectors, I can confirm that they are not firing. It appears that the vacuum fuel regulator is not allowing any gasoline to get through.

Thank you very much for all the help, everyone. Reflected and examined thoroughly. I was certain, for some reason, that I had placed the gasoline lines backwards when I discovered this. It took me consulting the instruction manual to realize that I had turned it upside down.
