In search of a bumper cover grill for my 2003 CLK 430

Post by celestefv »

For my 2003 CLK430, I need a bumper cover grill in silver. Here is the part number for your reference: 2088850022. I am getting the entire front bumper replaced since I damaged it, but the repair shop informed me that they don't have the part anymore.

Does anybody know of a location I can get this item secondhand or a company that makes replacement parts? Another option would be to ask for recommendations for anything else that might be used in this spot in case the part I need is not available.

The most recent posts on this topic were from 2009 or earlier, however I did go across the site.

I am grateful.

I went through the same thing with my clk55; in the end, I installed a clk320 bumper.

Quite intriguing. How simple was it to just walk right in? What do you think? Is there a photo album?

With identical fog light connections and a straight bolt-on design, it's clear that the clk55 and clk 430 shared a bumper. The junkyard was where I found mine. After much waiting, I finally given up hoping for a clk430 or clk55 to be released. eBay was also of no assistance.

Very astute of you to come up with the answer and put it into action. Seems suitable. Great work. How did you plan to use the junkyard? Why not go visit your neighborhood junkyard and inquire? As an alternative, perhaps something more complex?

I went to pick up a CLK 320 from the junkyard next to me, LKQ. They have a website where they display all the cars with images.

I spent $140 on the bumper.

Someone might have some new, unpainted clk430/55 amg bumpers for sale, but they're going for around $500.

Could you please tell me the pricing of untarnished silver?
Can you tell me where you are?
