Help with replacing the cahin on a 2009 Mini Cabrio R57
Please forgive me if this has been answered previously or if I have posted it in the incorrect section.
I need some advice on how to change my chain.
If anyone has a rundown of the components I need to purchase, please let me know.
It occurred to me:
a set of chain links, a tensioner, gaskets, seals, and guides
Auxiliary drive belt set with pulley and tensioner
Every bolt that's required
Hydrostatic transmission
Vacant seal
Please correct me if I am mistaken or omit anything.
If you could also recommend a store, that would be fantastic.
It is really appreciated.

I only ever install complete kits from FAI since their timing chain kits have everything you need, including sprockets, vvt hubs, rocker gaskets, front oil seals, and oil pump chains. This is because I usually replace the chain and the oil pump at the same time.

I appreciate your response. Is it common practice to swap out the vanos solenoids whenever the chain is changed? Much obliged.

One more for the FAI set. They gave me advice on them when I was working on ours. It was a great fit for flawless adaptations from the start and has remained such for the past three years.
Since our mesh appeared worn and I preferred to avoid metal shavings floating around, I substituted our solenoids with authentic Pierburgs from Motor Parts Direct.
If you're good at solenoids, go ahead and attempt it. Just keep that in mind in case things aren't perfect. No big deal—they're simple to swap out.

I appreciate your response. Over the weekend, I will consider placing an order for everything.
