Is there a new bushing available for the 2wd LCA?

Post by norajimeneztr »

Because of this, the bushings connecting the lower control arm to the frame on my 1986 2wd se-5 are completely broken. By the time they are sent, the Mazda part costs around $70 apiece, and there doesn't seem to be much of a supply. The bushing I'm referring about is this: here.

Is anyone in possession of a generic equivalent that could be measured, or has anyone discovered one?

In the absence of a recognized generic, I may have to remove mine and replace the rubber with polyurethane round stock.

Everyone, I am grateful.

No matter what I decide to do, I will certainly let you know.

Everything for a front control arm bushing swap (upper and lower) and a leaf spring bushing swap (top and bottom) is now in my possession.

I will probably take the truck's bushings off. Before inserting the appropriate-sized poly round stock, just drop them in an outside fire.

I assumed someone might know anything about that bushing since I really didn't want to spend so much "down time".

Replacement of the 2WD lower control arm bushings (LCAB) is the subject of a topic on another Mazda forum. According to one participant, 4x4 vehicles employ two (2) LCABs of various sizes, with the bigger one being the one that 2WD trucks should use. I can't say for sure since
