Bushings on trailing arms
When replacing the bushings in the trailing arms, how crucial is it to utilize OEM Mercedes parts? MB sells them for $37 each, whereas aftermarket vendors charge $6–$7. Just as when you get new shoes, it will feel different. However, does anyone have any idea what the difference is between OEM and aftermarket in this particular situation?

Re: Bushings on trailing arms
It appears that the aftermarket parts are supplied by mainly low-end companies like Uro, MTC, or Hamburg Technik. Given the nature of these parts and the effort required to install them, I would choose the original over the aftermarket option, however I would trust a Febi part if one were available based on my experience. Although they are somewhat more costly than other options, the price is still reasonable when put into context.

Surely you're correct. Please tell me I can keep the $100. That's all I was looking for.

This part is really manufactured by Febi. Since I have installed several Febi components on my 107, I would have no qualms with using them. The 04977 seems to be available at FCP Euro.

The Mercedes parts have already been ordered. A broader neck is a hallmark of all aftermarket brands. It annoys me, but I can't say if it will make a difference. I am choosing OEM Mercedes since I know they will endure for 40 years.
