The oil level
The oil level
Hi everyone, I need your help figuring out what's wrong with my 2018 Range Rover's oil level. When I start it up after a night without driving, the oil level is below the middle, but after 20 or 30 minutes of driving, I check it again and it's at the maximum. Has anybody else experienced this? I can't tell if it's because the oil is low or the sensor isn't working.

Re: The oil level
For the most part, I achieve the same outcome on my 2019. It usually reads slightly low when I check it first thing in the morning before starting the car. After putting it to rest for half an hour or longer after a long day of driving, the level is perfectly good. What I mentioned above is exactly what I saw when I changed my oil recently, using 8 gallons. I don't see any issue with it.
Re: The oil level
The first time I changed it, I placed 8 liters, and it was on the first red line; that's why I went with 7.5 liters this time; nevertheless, when I removed it from the car, it was more than 7 liters. I was wondering why.

Re: The oil level
Remember that heated oil expands. I get that the manufacturer recommends checking the temperature at room temperature first thing in the morning, but even after 30 minutes, it's warmer than it would be after sitting all night, so it will always read somewhat higher.
