The brand of B57D30A oil?
Countless movies, brochures, and forum postings have been combed over. On the other hand, I need to know what kinds of fuel are ideal for my 2018 540d xDrive. Using a MANN filter and 5w-40 weight oil is what I want to do, however I've been stuck on the question of which oil to use for quite some time. Last time I changed the oil, I used Liqui Moly, but it was regular 5w-40 and not genuine diesel, so I'll be switching to that soon. While both Shell Rotella and Royal Purple have received positive reviews, I'm still not sure which one would be best for my vehicle. With around 113,000 miles on it, this is the single-turbo B57 type; I intend to make it endure as long as possible by feeding it the finest fuel possible. No suggestion is ever off-limits, but please include more than just "its what Ive been using, no issues" when making a recommendation. This is the car I want to treat with the utmost care; I had excellent luck with Liqui Moly on my last 535i, and I use Mobil 1 on my everyday driving (which isn't a BMW). I appreciate it in advance.

Eventually, Liqui Moly became my preferred choice. I suppose 5W-30, Special Tec 4200 or Special Tec 4600 would be the right oil for your engine. However, I believe that about the time your car was constructed, BMW was switching from the LL-04 standard to the LL-12FE for diesels. I looked through the Liqui Moly application guide to find the right oil for your vehicle, but they don't have it listed under the G30 series. By the way, I think that G30 you're using has the B57 engine.
If you would like further information or to apply the oil, you may contact LM directly.

If you want to know what kind of oil your automobile needs, go under the hood or refer to the handbook.

The automobile requires ow-30 from BMW, but I'm not interested in this because it's used to satisfy CAFE rules and get a tiny bit more mileage out of the car. After hearing about 5w-30 and 5w-40, I've decided to go with 5w-40 because it maintains its lubricity better in extremely hot climates, which is important for my home in south Florida.

Re: The brand of B57D30A oil?
My research has led me to believe that B57D30A is the B57's generic code, whereas the B57D30K, which is the one intended for shipment to the United States, is... not even on the list. Since the 0w is used to provide the US a little bit more gas mileage, it will be altered to 5w in the calculation. In Europe, the 530d engine uses 5w-30. In light of the heat qualities of 5w-40, I will be using it in my south Florida setting. I have also read about the debate between 5w-30 and 5w-40. I am trying to figure out which product to buy and which brand to trust based on the experiences of people who have recommended them.

None of the engine's approved specifications call for 5W-40 oils.
They will be LL-04 oils if you choose to use 5W-30.
These two oils are well-known and easy to find:
5W-30 Mobil 1 ESP and Pennzoil Euro L, both with the code LL-04
