A5 cabriolet headliner repair
This is my action. thumb tacks with a corkscrew. cover it up so the adhesive lines are visible. assembled them again by hand. thread the corkscrew through the headliner and the cloth that is dangling from the support bar. start in the middle and work your way outwards in pairs. It works wonderfully for repositioning the headliner by aligning the adhesive lines. did mine two years ago, and it hasn't sagged or tore since. No amount of glue can ever make this last. All three beams and the middle light area were completed. appears to be flawless. obtain ones that are crystal clear. 50 count is available on Amazon for $5. both time and money were saved. The liner will remain off your head and no one will ever know. If necessary, I can supply images. $5 instead of $500. around thirty minutes. the only questionable aspect was the top placement for access. Getting to the necessary information required some experimentation. Because of the generosity involved, this was a huge success. and I wear my shirt frequently

I can't seem to get my head around how those thumbtacks would function. To secure the headliner in place, how do the corkscrew thumbtacks pierce the steel bars that make up the roof structure?

A fabric piece attaches to the bars, which is typically simply bonded to the headliner during factory installation. After aligning the glue line, I inserted a transparent corkscrew through both the lining and the cloth. Assuming you're doing this, I can provide some images in case it remains confusing.

If you have a picture of the pins taken within the cabin, that would be great.

not quite show-stopping, but it serves its purpose on my beloved 180k-mile vehicle. The half-inch-long flap from which they dangle is dangling from the ba

Who, at any point, in a car, glances up?
No matter what, I always go for the top-down approach.
The bars really keep the cloth in place, as can be seen by slicing halfway down the top, which reveals the adhesive lines. it required some climbing to reach all the bars, such as the light section.

Re: A5 cabriolet headliner repair
I have exhausted every possible means to eradicate it. Upgrades include: pedal commander, 100w fog lights, rs grill, drill slotted rotor with ceramic pads, tinted tails, debadging, smart top controller (so my fob will work softtop), p3 gauge in vent, wireless for mmi, a new turbo, a high flow cat downpipe, and stage 2 tuning. maintained the OEM exhaust, but it is now really quick. Run anyone by me. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in under 6 seconds and takes off like a rocket. I can ride on mud or stone with all four of my pedals when I use the sport+ mode. it gleams in the dark. even though the turbo still had the 1-second delay and no speed limits after the tweak, I still couldn't get it to work. Now that I've had the turbo changed, the boost is more than before, so it's cool that the water gate is a little loose and makes a noise. I will crate one and replace it out if the motor fails. I've found my dream automobile.

If at all possible, I urge you to get a pedal commander. that adds a whole lot of joy to it. ready to go. Oh, and I completely disregarded the plug-and-play feature of the remote start with GPS location. cut-free wires. No matter where I am, I can remotely start or locate my automobile. went from Aruba to Indiana in my automobile. to open the windows, or to adjust the top, press my fob for three seconds. It's too late to get rid of all the items I've bought.
