C280 Sport Tint from 2000

Post by natalie.robinsonxb »

I recently purchased a 2000 C280 Sport and have made some little cosmetic changes to it, such as adding a grille, AMG wheels, and clear corners. Nothing significant, just wanted to give it a nicer look. Tint is the last component I would want to incorporate. It appears that the factory window already has a thin layer of tint on it, with a little blued hue. Please don't make it seem purple by blending with the hue; I'm not trying to add anything dark. After getting it checked out, they informed me that I would also need to apply a non-metallic tint, which is something I'm not fond of as I've heard that it fades more quickly. In an ideal world, I'd want to make it more blue-toned like the latest CLKs, but I have no idea whether that's even feasible with Mercedes. Does anyone have any advice or can I get some assistance?

To be honest, I'm on the hunt for the same answer. If I learn anything, I will inform you.

I was wondering if you have any pictures of the work you've done thus far.

"No metallic?" Think about ceramic tint if you're having trouble with radio reception. A metallic or ceramic tint is the only thing that will work on such windows. And sure enough, the rest eventually drift away. It has been my understanding that ceramic is the best material available and will not affect your radio reception.

Lots of C280s have the smoke tint, however I've never encountered any instances where it clashed with the existing window tint. Just a friendly reminder, the OEM tint is really glass tint. In fact, that is the hue of the glass. (In the absence of a dealer who tinted the windows after delivery) At the moment, you may choose between surface or film tints, such as ceramic poly-all films, poly with no metal, or metalized poly.

I agree! The Focus with Llumar is fantastic. I was wondering whether Llumar had ceramic tint and if you have any information about it, jnolte.

I really appreciate all of your assistance. I will definitely investigate the ceramic and look at the Lumar tint. I just put the wheels on, so I don't have any updated pictures of the car at the moment. But I will upload them when I take photos this week.

Once again, I'm grateful.

Are your Zenons from a certain place? Are you a fan of them? Is the investment worthwhile?
