Switch to HW4 instead of upgrading
The 2018 M3 that my sister owns has HW3. No time after purchasing the vehicle did she settle up for FSD.
If she could move FSD to a new M3, she would be happy to spare Tesla the expense of upgrading to HW4. This looks like a win-win situation.
However, a $500 discount on a brand-new M3 is far too little.

In my opinion, that is not something they have addressed.

The deadline for this was as the FSD transfer option had already expired. In my opinion, they might never resume, at least not for the time being.

I feel the same way, but my reasoning is that Tesla would do something stupid, like turn away customers who paid for FSD up front but never received it, and force them to switch brands.

A reasonable person would conclude that there has been a breach of contract if the promised delivery of an FSD purchase (or any purchase) has not occurred after ten years. I was wondering if the people whose cars still have FSD could get their money back through a legal proceeding or arbitration.
A fast online search indicates that the typical lifespan of an automobile, biased towards internal combustion engine vehicles, is approximately sixteen years. Perhaps they would need that much time to sell it

Time is money, so I think it would be reasonable to offer a vehicle discount equal to the FSD purchase price plus a free FSD xfer to a new Tesla. In exchange, you would need to sign an agreement saying that the FSD can never reach FSD, which is easy since today's FSD is Supervised FSD.
