ISTA failure to communicate

Post by kasper_youngq »

At last, I was able to establish a connection between my laptop and my car.

switch to Edibas and remote in the ini file. Connected via an Ethernet cable and a USB port.

After making the changes, I rebooted my laptop, and it is now operational.

After seven months of work and approximately £3.5k in labor and parts, I am pleased to report that I have full power back. Probably 90% of that would not have been necessary if I could have used ISTA instead of that smarmy code reader that told me every component in the exhaust and air intake was faulty.

I learned that if you have the correct equipment, the job is easy.

Simply put, "usb to enet" does not exist. A K+DCAN cable is USB x OBDII. An ENET cable is Ethernet x OBD11.

The fact that it's an ENET cable and a USB-C to Ethernet adaptor is really irrelevant to me.
