Vehicle loses track of its

Post by benjamin.cookca »

Audi S5 B8 4.2 V8 from 2008

The engine was recently refreshed with new seals, chains, and clutch, among other things, however the battery was unplugged for more than a week throughout the process. The air conditioner isn't blowing cold air (even if the compressor is OK and full of gas), and it appears that many of the settings in the vehicle part of the MMI have vanished. It seems like it erased all of its settings and went back to the factory, since I no longer have access to the ADS options that I activated using VCDS (no buttons), the battery monitor, oil level, seat symmetry, tpms, and the "secret" green car menu.

Not only does the MMI not appear with the visual parking sensors, but it also no longer displays the information while adjusting the climate control, heated seats, etc.

For some reason, the laptimer is still set to on.

Is there any way I can restore it all? Do I simply need to tell it that it has options by connecting it to VCDS or something similar? Furthermore, is there any way to find out what it included, because I really cannot recall.

Not only had the mechanics never encountered this before, but they had also never dealt with an engine that had been out for so long with the battery removed.

Would much appreciate any assistance. While most things are fine, I would really appreciate air conditioning (particularly right now) and the ability to see the oil level.

Extra details... Here is the outcome of the VCDS scan; I'm wondering if it's related to the battery life.

After erasing all mistakes, what occurs?

Since the repair shop that performed the engine refurb/refresh is conveniently located near my place of employment, I am hesitant to reset them until they have examined all errors; I am willing to put up with the problem for a few days because it is not a big deal. I was merely attempting to gain a general notion and was crossing my fingers that anything striking would jump out at me.

Even after a single scan with the ignition turned on, Energy Management was triggered, and the battery had previously died. I have tried resetting the energy management error, recoding the battery as a backup, and resetting the MMI, among other things, while the battery is charging, but nothing has worked.

Module 07 does appear to be displaying certain errors related to faulty coding, erroneous configuration types, or uncoded code, such as 000000. Is it as easy as getting the module recoded? Maybe it went a little wonky after being disconnected for a week? I have an old scan with the stuff on it.

The fact that my customizations were still visible in VCDS suggests that they haven't been lost; perhaps the options aren't shown in the car menu because of energy management or a malfunctioning control head module.

I would reset the errors and see what happens, as I mentioned before.

I'll have the individuals I recently paid thousands of pounds to conduct the work take a look at it then.
Though I will let you know when it's fixed in case anyone else encounters the same or a comparable problem.
