B18 Sensor for Altitude and Pressure

Post by victorzu »

The B18 sensor, which measures altitude pressure, is something I only found out about. Despite claims to the contrary, I have been unable to locate it in my 1981 Mercedes 380SL. Can you point me in the right direction if it has one? Thank you ahead of time.

From what I can see, the altitude pressure sensor is nestled beneath the carpeting on the passenger side floor, adjacent to the electronic control unit (ECU) inside the vehicle.

Neither the 380 nor any other K-Jet makes use of an ambient air pressure sensor. Later KE-Jet injection models, such as the 560, made use of an ambient pressure sensor, which I believe you are mentioning.

I appreciate it. Despite this setback, I intend to keep learning from it. The search for the nonexistent has finally come to an end, I suppose.
