In 2016, when I was getting ready to relocate to Minnesota, I acquired a 1985 F350 rollback with a 6.9 diesel in North Carolina. On the journey, it transported a great deal of cargo.
Because I was foolish enough to let the engine run dry several times, I've had to replace it throughout the years. My friend who borrowed it from me got the unfortunate end of the deal when the driveshaft came loose at the u-joint and severed all the fuel, electrical, and brake lines in the process. Nevertheless, my son and I do all the repairs ourselves, and it has been an invaluable asset to our armory.
Afterwards, in 2024, I traveled to Minnesota with a 1988 F600 box truck powered by a 6.6-liter diesel engine, loading it with personal belongings that I inherited from my brother. Currently, we are addressing problems with the cooling system and have a short list of necessary repairs to turn it into a dependable truck for occasional personal usage.
Actually, both vehicles are intended for individual usage. They have no business need for me.
My Ford Diesels are the best.
